John Ng is a Venture Scientist, with responsibility for due diligence of investment opportunities on the Synapto Ventures portfolio, as well providing strategic and financial recommendation.
John Ng is a med-tech engineer, entrepreneur, and a Singapore Biodesign Innovation Fellow with a passion for translating unmet clinical needs into commercially viable healthcare solutions. He brings experience in early-stage clinical innovation, product development, and cross-border collaboration, having led projects across Singapore, North America, Australia, and APAC. John thrives at the intersection of healthcare and entrepreneurship-partnering with startups, venture capitalists, clinicians, and research institutions to accelerate innovation and drive better patient outcomes.
With a background in mechanical engineering, John’s experience spans rapid prototyping, clinical validation, and intellectual property development. He is the named inventor on multiple international patents and has successfully advanced several technologies from concept to clinical use—most notably leading a USD 3.8 M nationally funded initiative that resulted in a USD 2M med-tech spin-off.
John holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) from Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), as well as a Master in Business Administration from Singapore Management University.
